Hello world,

My name is Emily I’m 16 years old and I’m a junior in high school. I’m going to be the first in my family to attend college and I’m planning on majoring in psychology, the scientific study of mental functions and behavior. I like  psychology because it’s directed towards understanding human activity. I believe that everyone can be happy, even if you have a past that wasn’t as great as others. Life hasn’t been easy for me but I’m still trying to achieve my goals.

I am a very shy and insecure person because of the way people treat me. When I changed elementary schools, in the new school I was judged based on my weight. Because of what I have been through as an overweight teen  I would like to post about childhood obesity. I let the stress of others putting me down effect who I am. I have always loved the saying ” you know my name not my story” and “don’t judge a book by its cover” because I have always been judged by my appearance and not by who I really am.

I guarantee if most people who judge me got to know the real Emily they would think twice about how they felt. I am very nice, I love to make jokes even when they aren’t funny. I love to laugh, swim and play volleyball. I love music, I like pictures because they tell stories, I love to explore things and all together my story describes the life of Emily a teenage girl who is NOT perfect and doesn’t really want to be.
